WAAKYE WITH STEW/SHITO
This is rice cooked together with beans
it is eaten with stew or a specially pepper sauce called "shito"
it can be eaten with fish or meat or biled egg
BANKU WITH FISH AND SOUP/PEPPER
banku is prepare from powdered corn and can be eaten with either palm nut soup,groundnut soup or pepper
FUFU & SOUP
this is a pounded cassava and and its eaten strictly with soup and meat/fish.
BOILED PLANTAIN WITH KONTOMIRE
Kontomire is a Ghanaian spinach
it is cooked , boiled, marshed and mixed with palm oil
it can be eaten with either yam,plantain or potatoes
AKPLE AND PEPPER WITH FISH
This is cooked just like Banku as they are all from powdered corn.
The only difference is that : with Banku the corn has to be soaked before grinding; while with the Akple the corn has to be very dry before grinding.
Akple is normally eaten with Pepper or thick soup or stew
most people to eat it with fish instead of meat.
ROASTED PLANTAIN WITH GROUNDNUT
the plantain is mostly ripe and roasted on fire
the groundnut is as-well roasted to match the plantain
this it is s normally taken as snack
GARI SOAKINGS
Gari is a product of Cassava
Gari soakings is a process where ; gari is mixed with cold water,sugar , groundnut(optional) , cocoa powder(optional) and milk(optional) depending on how juicy you want.
it can be taken as a snack or lunch
BEANS WITH FRED-RIPE-PLANTAIN
this is cooked beans mixed with palm-oil
it is eaten with friied ripe plantain
this food is really good for vegetarians
JOLLOF RICE WITH CHICKEN
this is rice cooked together with gravery/tomato stew
it is normally matched with chicken meat
KENKEY WITH HOT PEPPER/STEW AND FISH/MEAT
Kenkey is also a product of powdered maize (just like banku)
it is mostly eaten with pepper but you can add some tomato sauce to reduce the hotness
otherwise you will have to eat it with gravery stew
TUO - ZAFI
it is prepared from dry corn flour
and eaten with thick leafy soup and meat
KAKLO WITH COCONUT
kaklo refers to fried cassava balls
it is mostly eaten with coconut though it can be eaten alone
this is eaten as a desert
KELEWELE WITH GROUNDNUT
kelewele refers to fried ripe plantain
it is fried together with pepper sauce and ginger
and its mostly eaten with groundnut
